Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Coordination Meeting
On 22 March, the leaders of the EuroCham Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Working Group held a meeting to discuss the drafting of the Position Paper 2021 as well as coordinate on a number of advocacy activities. For the development of the sectoral Position Paper 2021, the Group this year will touch upon the impact of COVID-19 on the health sector. This can cover patients trend and the shift of health services from conventional to technology-based application. Key issues in the previous year’s position paper will be carried over including on topics pertaining to Halal, Patent, Local Content, and Public Goods Procurement. This Meeting also discussed upcoming plans for organizing a group meeting that will focus on the impact of the Omnibus Law to the health sector.
3rd Discussion Series on Omnibus Law Implementing Regulations
On 18 March, EuroCham concluded the 3rd and final Discussion Series on Omnibus Law Implementing Regulations, which was organized in collaboration with the HHP Law firm. This webinar focused on employment issues. The meeting was opened by Paramita Wijaya (Head of EuroCham HR Working Group and HR Director at BASF), which was followed by a discussion that presented expert speakers from the HHP Law Firm, namely Alvira Wahjosoedibjo (Associate Partner), M. Rinaldo Aditya (Senior Associate), and Yesi Samosir (Associate). The event attracted more than 100 active participants who engaged in a lively discussion on the new requirements related to definite period employment agreements, foreigners working in Indonesia and termination of employment. All of expert speakers also provided clarifications on some of the technical questions raised by member companies from a legal perspective.
