Import-Export Procedures Working Group Meeting

On Wednesday, 23 September 2021, the members of the Import-Export Procedures Working Group met to discuss the latest status of topics covered in the EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Position Papers 2021. This meeting was also intended for member companies to exchange the latest updates and challenges pertaining to import and export policies. The Meeting was co-chaired by the Head of Working Group, Rachmat Hidayat (Government Relations Director – Danone), and Prita Hapsari (Customs Head for Zone AOA (Asia Oceania Africa) of Nestlé). The participants actively engaged in a lively and constructive discussion during the Meeting, which concluded with some initiatives to continue the advocacy efforts with relevant stakeholders as well as the decision to monitor few topics impacting import-export policies.

Talk Show: Together We Protect Marine Life #EUBeachCleanUp 2021

On 18 September 2021, a Talk Show entitled “Together We Protect Marine Life #EUBeachCleanUp 2021” was organized by the EU Delegation and supported by EuroCham. This event seeks to support an ocean-activism and awareness-raising campaign - #EUBeachCleanup and was opened by a speech from the Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Vincent Piket, and Nani Hendriarty from the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment. The session wants to convey the need to protect the biodiversity of our oceans from marine litter and plastic pollution. The main theme of the Event was, “Together to Protect Marine Life”.

The talkshow, which was moderated by Prita Laura, involved speakers from the Indonesian government, influencers, NGOs, and youth activists. Representing the perspectives of industry was Karyanto Wibowo, the Head of EuroCham Sustainable Development Working Group from Danone who conveyed how businesses can help prevent plastic waste and stressed the need for collaboration from all sides to overcome marine litter and plastic pollution.
