EuroCham participated in the EU-Asean Business Council’s Ministerial Meetings

EuroCham was invited by the EU-Asean Business Council to a series of joint meetings with the Indonesian ministers, namely:

H.E. Johnny Gerard Plate (Minister of Communication and Information Technology)

During the meeting on 4 February 2021, EuroCham raised issues related to the roadmap for application of personal data in Indonesia to support technology ecosystem, and government’s plan for the development of 5G implementation in Indonesia. At this meeting, EuroCham was represented by the Chair, Corine Danielle Tap, and the Vice Chair, Wichard Von Harrach, as well as the Head of the EuroCham Technology Working Group, Antoine Schweitzer, and the Head of EuroCham Transportation Working Group, Marco Pietsch.

H.E. Muhammad Lutfi (Minister of Trade)

The meeting with the Minister of Trade took place on 8 February 2021. During this meeting, the Minister shared his views related to prospects for EU-ASEAN FTA negotiations for Indonesia, as well as moves to improve the attractiveness of Indonesia for trade and investment. EuroCham was represented at the Meeting by the Chair, Corine Danielle Tap, and the Vice Chair, Wichard Von Harrach, as well as the Head of the EuroCham Automotive Working Group, Daniel Purba, and the Head of EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group, Rachmat Hidayat.

H.E. Budi Karya Sumadi (Minister of Transportation)

The delegation met the Minister of Transportation on 9 February 2021. Topics raised by EuroCham among other are the key targets to accomplish the National Logistic Ecosystem plan for 2021 by the Ministry of Transportation, enforcement to Over Dimension and Over Load Trucks, as well as implementation of standards of noise and air quality for the transportation sector. During the meeting the minister also briefly shared status of upcoming infrastructure projects in Indonesia. EuroCham was represented by the Chair, Corine Danielle Tap, and the Vice Chair, Wichard Von Harrach, as well as the Head of the EuroCham Automotive Working Group, Daniel Purba, and the Head of EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group, Marco Pietsch.
