Energy Working Group Meeting

Energy Working Group had a meeting among through an electronic connection on 2 April 2020. There were two agendas discussed, namely sharing session on Asian Development Bank (ADB) Street Lighting Program by Thomas Dressen and the Finalization of Energy Position Paper. In the first session, Thomas Dressen conveyed his practical way together with an ADB consultant in applying Public Private Partnership structure in Denpasar, over the last 3 years. He also shared the intention of this initiative is to demonstrate removal of current barriers through PPP for governments and to have private-sector companies develop, fund and implement Energy Efficiency.

The meeting continued to discuss the Energy Position Paper. Like previous year, the paper is still highlighting policies to reach out the national renewable energy target of 23%. The group also included key recommendations aim to create certain conditions, namely: (1) Clarity; (2) Predictability and Transparent Procurement; (3) Predictable Pricing, Established and Efficient Providers of Renewable Energy; (4) Easy Access to Capital; and (5) Simple Project Structures.
