Meeting with Deputy for Trade and Commerce, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs

On 5 February 2020, EuroCham, represented by Head and Deputy Head of Import-Export Procedures Working Group, Head of Automotive Working Group, and Head of Chemical Working Group, visited Ir. Bambang Adi Winarso, M.Sc. Ph.D., Deputy for Trade and Commerce, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. The meeting aims to consult and receive advises as well as direction on regulatory framework that affecting these industries.

In this meeting, several topics were discussed, namely on Simplification of Import Recommendation for Iron and Steel, Simplification of Import Recommendation for Complementary Good, Market Test, and After Sales, and Import of Salt for the Purpose of Research and Development. At the meeting, Bapak Bambang informed some important updates that the Ministry of Trade has issued a regulation that revises the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 118 of 2018 on Import Provisions for Iron or Steel, Alloy Steel, and its Derivatives, and he also mentioned that the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs is still assessing with the Minister of Trade about the implementation of provisions on complementary good, good for market test, and aftersales. During the meeting, the Coordinating Ministry also shared the progress of revocation of import provisions for electric cigarettes, as well as other import provisions that are currently under discussion
