On 16 March 2021, EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group organized a meeting with its member companies to discuss two main agenda, namely the Presidential Regulation No. 10 of 2021 that significantly changes the foreign capital investment rules for the transport and logistics sector, and the drafting of EuroCham Position Papers 2021. The Meeting was chaired by the Head of the EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group and the Country Director Indonesia of Logwin Air + Ocean, Marco Pietsch, and co-chaired by the Deputies of the Working Group, Sugyanto Halim (CFO of DB Schenker) and Jop Patinggi (GM of a. hartrodt).

The members welcomed the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 10 of 2021 that further relaxed foreign investment requirements of various sub-sectors within the transport and logistics sectors. However, member companies hope that some of the remaining operational restrictions in place for foreign companies within the sector can also be removed. Inputs gathered on the topic of investment regime from this meeting will also be reflected in the upcoming EuroCham Transport and Logistics Position Papers 2021. Prior to the drafting of these papers, the Working Group has conducted a survey to collect inputs based on the latest observations of member companies on the key topics, as well as the main concerns and recommendations that they would like to propose to the government/relevant stakeholders. The paper is currently being drafted based on the results of the survey as well as inputs gathered from the Meeting.

The event was followed by a presentation from the Head of the Central Java DPMPTSP, Ratna Kawuri. Ratna explained the various progress made in trade infrastructure development, which includes progress on the development of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) throughout the Central Java region.
