Danone and Lamongan Government Inagurated Biggest Integrated Waste Processing Site in East Java

In support of the Government’s commitment to reduce plastic waste in the oceans by 70% by 2025, Danone strengthens the commitment of the #BijakBerplastik movement or wisely use plastics through the collection pillars to build an Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Lamongan Regency. This TPST is the largest in East Java and was inaugurated in collaboration with the Government of the Lamongan Regency, Dompet Dhuafa, along with PT Reciki Solusi Indonesia on 24 November 2020. The TPST Samtaku (SAmpahku TAnggung jawabKU) or “my waste, my responsibility” movement, is intended as a vehicle for education that aims to share knowledge about the source of waste, its impact, and how to manage the waste.

Ministry of Health Awarded Danone Indonesia for Contribution in Handling COVID-19

The Ministry of Health gave an award to PT Tirta Investama as part of Danone Indonesia as one of the best companies considered to have made an active contribution to the response to COVID-19.

The award was handed over by the Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto virtually as part of the 56th National Health Day (HKN) commemoration event with the theme “Satukan Tekad Menuju Indonesia Sehat” with the sub-theme “Jaga Diri, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Selamatkan Bangsa dari Pandemi COVID-19”.

Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, said that various initiatives have been carried out by Danone in Indonesia through its two business units, namely, Tirta Investama (producer of AQUA, Mizone, Levite, Vit) and Nutricia Sarihusada (producer of SGM, Bebelac, Nutrilon, Lactamil). Since April 2020, the company has continued to strengthen its commitment to help overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, reaching a total of IDR 30 billion. The assistance has been distributed in the form of cash, health and safety equipment, and Danone products which will be sent to a number of hospitals that handle COVID-19 in Indonesia and given to those who are prone to being affected and affected by the current conditions.
