On 14 September 2022, EuroCham Indonesia's Human Resources Working Group convened a meeting at the EuroCham office. The meeting was in the form of a sharing session among members regarding several issues such as expatriate manpower permits, the compensation regulation for Definite Period Employment Agreement (PKWT) workers, and the implementation of local insurance for foreign workers who work for more than 6 months. These are just some of the outstanding issues and concerns expressed by some of our members, which may potentially impact the business climate for foreign companies doing business in Indonesia. The meeting also elected Sylviawati Tanuwikarta from Siemens to serve as the Deputy for the Human Resources Working Group.

The HSBC Summit 2022 hosted its annual forum on September 14, presenting national and international speakers including government officials and industry players from various key sectors. Efforts to mitigate global temperature rise and reduce greenhouse gas emissions are actions lined with the Paris Agreement, in which the climate change mitigation policy will ultimately affect private companies from various industries. The summit highlighted topics on transitions to a low carbon economy, challenges in mitigating climate change, and seeking solutions to finance and invest in a low carbon economy.
