EuroCham Indonesia was invited by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia to a socialization event on March 1st. The event focused on Presidential Regulation No. 79 of 2023, which updates regulations regarding the Acceleration of the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Program for Road Transportation and related incentives for BEV investment in Indonesia.

Rachmat Kaimuddin, the Deputy of Infrastructure and Transportation at the Coordinating Ministry of Maritimes Affairs, highlighted the importance of the automotive industry in Indonesia's economy and announced new investment programs to promote economic growth and electric vehicle industry development. Other speakers included Budi Santoso (Director General of International Trade, Ministry of Trade), Hendro Martono (Director of Maritime Industry for Transportation Equipment and Defense Equipment, Ministry of Industry), Rizky Novihamzah (Director for the Tertiary Sector, Ministry of Investment), and Rustam Effendi (Policy Analyst Expert Associate at the Fiscal Policy Agency, Ministry of Finance), who shared insights from their respective ministries.

On the 29th of February, the Energy Working Group convened for its monthly meeting at the EuroCham office. The meeting was led by the Head of the Energy Working Group Thomas Wagner (Chief Representative South-East Asia at EnviTec Biogas AG), Deputy Heads Miroslav Dijakovic (Director at Cleantech Solar Indonesia) and Thomas Dreessen (President Director at INDESCO).

The group had a discussion on the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulations No. 2 of 2024 concerning Solar Rooftop Power Plant. We truly appreciate everyone's participation and hope to see you at future meetings.
