OECD-IEA Focus Group Discussion on Approaches to Emission Trading System Schemes in The Power Sector

On 23 November, the EuroCham Energy Working Group was invited to a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Emissions Trading System (ETS) Schematic Approach in The Power Sector. This first FGD is part of a series of technical FGDs organized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Clean Energy Finance Mobilization and Investment Program in conjunction with the International Energy Agency. The aim for the meeting is to discuss Indonesia's goals and initial progress in implementing ETS pilots and various international approaches to designing and implementing ETS schemes in the electricity sector. During the discussions, country experts shared their experiences of designing and implementing schemes and highlighted lessons that could also be useful in the Indonesian context.

EuroCham Webinar on Highlights of the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulation

On 17 November 2021, the Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group hosted a webinar on Highlights of the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulation. The webinar invited as the main speaker Sophia Rengganis (Senior Tax Manager of PwC) to share updates related to the main changes introduced by the new law. The event highlighted the six main points of the new law including changes in the General Provisions and Taxation Procedures, Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Carbon Tax, Excise, and Voluntary Disclosure Program. Participated by around 40 representatives of member companies from various sectors, the Meeting provided attendees the opportunity to engage in an open discussion as well as share views related to the challenges on the implementation of the new law. The overall discussion was moderated by the Head of the EuroCham Finance, Tax and Investment Working Group, Omar Abdulkadir.
