The Automotive Working Group held a meeting on Wednesday, 29 July 2020. Chaired by the Head of the Working Group, Daniel Purba, from Mercedes Benz, the meeting discussed five topics. Three of them are related to electric vehicles namely, the Minister of Transportation Regulation on Physical Type Approval, Draft Minister of Industry Regulation on Battery Electric Vehicles, and Minister of Transportation Regulation on Certain Vehicles that use Electric Motors. Another topic discussed was updates on motor vehicle type approval and import provisions on Complementary Good, Good for Market Test, and After Sales. During this meeting it was agreed that member companies shall provide inputs and feedback related to the regulations. Lastly, the group also discussed the upcoming plans to start engaging again the relevant stakeholders either virtually, and if it is already possible, through direct face-to-face meetings.

On Wednesday, 29 July 2020, the EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group (WG) conducted an online meeting to discuss and exchange information on the latest development in policy changes impacting cross border trade procedures. Chaired by Rachmat Hidayat (Head of Import-Export Procedures WG) and Prita Hapsari (Deputy Head of the Import-Export Procedures WG), the meeting was joined by more than 50 participants from various business sectors.

The session was opened by a discussion on post border procedures, followed by an import provision for complementary good, good for the market test, and after-sales. On this occasion, the group also discussed the export provisions of masks, raw materials for masks, and personal protective equipment. Furthermore, the meeting gathered member’s views regarding the latest quarantine regulation as well as procedures to get preferential tariff based on FTAs. The meeting was concluded by an exchange of information regarding the import of dairy, alcoholic beverages, and textile products.
