Transport and Logistics Working Group Coordination Meetings

On 20 July 2020, the Head and Deputy Head of the Transport and Logistics Working Group met via Zoom Application to discuss upcoming activities and agenda for the next meeting planned for August 2020. This meeting also discussed plans to engage with relevant stakeholders in the sector, including possibly to collaborate with the Import-Export Procedures Working Group. As part of the follow ups, on 22, 24, 27 July 2020, a small task force within the group also briefly discussed the upcoming plan with the Customs Main Office to support their current efforts in drafting a new regulation on Autorized Economic Operator.

Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group Webinar: Investment Relocation From China, Prospects and Opportunities

On 16 July 2020, the Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group organized a webinar on Investment Relocation from China, Prospect and Opportunities. This webinar invited Indra Darmawan (the Director of Regional Promotion of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board/BKPM) to provide an update on the latest progress made by the government in capturing the current opportunities, and what kind of facilitation that has been done. During this meeting, BKPM also shared the list of companies that have already relocated to Indonesia, and highlighted that more are in the process. The Meeting also invited to speak on belalf of the private sector, Philipp Kersting (Partner - Head of Indonesia Desk at Luther LLP), who shared his views in observing the ongoing policy development in Indonesia that can be considered by potential investors who would like to start running a project in Indonesia. The overall discussion itself was moderated by Omar Abdulkadir (Head of EuroCham Finance, Tax, and Investment Working Group and PwC Indonesia Taxation Service Advisor).
